norm

The work "norm" deals with interior photographs of different administrative institutions of the city of Vienna. These photographs are taken from more than twenty different public institutions, including several ministries, magistrate's departments, a school, registry offices, the professional rescue service or the Court of Audit. The spaces are characterized by bureaucratic and commercial systems that give them the predominant architecturally sensible and functionally appropriate form.

There are no people in the photos; the focus is on the design and furnishings of these interiors and their impact. The individual rooms are not representative of the respective location, but of a type of space. What is shown is a series of photographs from which an aesthetic program of the public sector can be read.
